Each course on LearnWorlds is structured into sections, with each section containing learning activities that serve as your educational content. These sections are crucial for better organizing your content and provide flexibility in how you share it. You can use sections to break down the course into smaller, manageable pieces.
Examples/Use Cases:
- Organize your course by adding a section for each topic or module.
- Use sections to release your course content over time with drip-feed.
- Create a draft section while preparing new material and make it visible when ready.
- Offer free sections to attract learners to paid courses.
- Pre-sell your course by displaying upcoming content using the "Soon" status.

Add Course Sections
2. Add your sections:
If your course doesn’t have any sections, you have the following options:
- Option 1: Click Add Empty Section to start from scratch.
- Option 2: Import a section from another course. (Follow the respective article for detailed steps.)
- Option 3: Use the AI assistant to generate a section automatically.
If your course already contains sections, you can:
- Option 1: Click Add Section to add a new one.
- Option 2: Import a section from another course. (Follow the respective article for detailed steps.)
- Option 3: Use the AI assistant to generate a section using AI.
Course Section Access Status
Status | Properties |
Draft | This section is hidden from users and should be used when content is still in progress. |
Soon | This section is visible to users, but the activities are not accessible. Ideal for upcoming content or pre-sell courses. |
Free | This section is accessible to everyone, even if they are not enrolled. Useful for sharing free course samples. |
Paid | Only accessible to users who have purchased the course. Recommended for non-free courses. |
Edit Course Sections
Edit Section Title: Click on the title or hover over the section and click the pencil (edit) button.
Rearrange Section Order: Hover over the section title and use the up/down arrows to reorder the sections.
Add a New Section: Hover over a section and click the "+" (plus) icon to add a new section.
Copy, Paste, or Import Sections: Refer to our respective article for detailed instructions on these actions.
Delete a Section: Hover over the section title and click the delete icon to remove it.
Change Activity Order: Hover over the activity and use the drag-and-drop icon (a cross with four arrows) to move activities within or between sections.
Start Section Numbering from 00: Enable this option under the Course Player tab if you prefer the section numbering to begin at 00.
Use AI Assistant: You can use AI to rephrase content or suggest additional learning activities for each section.
