The AI Feedback Assistant is an interactive feedback tool that acts as a chatbot to help learners understand their performance on assessments. Once enabled, this assistant provides real-time explanations and learning guidance based on the learner’s answers, whether correct or incorrect, directly within the feedback report.
This feature can be a powerful way to reinforce learning, making feedback more engaging and personalized.
What Does the AI Assistant Do?
After submitting an exam, self-assessment, or quiz, learners will receive a feedback report. If the AI Feedback Assistant is activated, a chat box will appear under each question, offering:
- Clarification on why an answer was right or wrong.
- Tailored explanations based on the learner's response.
- Additional learning guidance to fill knowledge gaps.
How to Enable the AI Feedback Assistant
To activate this tool for any assessment:
- Go to your assessment or self-assessment.
- Click on the Settings menu.
- Navigate to the Feedback section.
- Find the AI Feedback Assistant panel and enable it.
Managing the Assistant on a Per-Question Basis
By default, once you enable the AI Assistant at the assessment level, it applies to all questions within that assessment. However, you can choose to disable it for specific questions:
- Select the specific question in the question list.
- Click the Feedback tab in the right-side panel.
- Toggle the Enable Feedback Assistant option to No for that question.
This gives you full flexibility to control where and how the AI feedback is delivered.
What Learners See
Once the feature is enabled, a chat box will appear below each question after a learner submits their assessment.
This allows them to ask follow-up questions or view detailed explanations. By turning feedback into an interactive experience, this feature helps deepen understanding and improve knowledge retention.
Depending on your GDPR settings, users will see a consent prompt the first time they access the AI tool. They must provide consent before proceeding. For more details, refer to this guide.
- You’ll need 1 AI Credit per attempt for the assistant to function.
- The chat appears only in the feedback report, not during the exam.
- Always preview the test to ensure the feature works as expected.
