Mathematical expressions and equations can be added to assessments using the Math Latex text widget. This feature is particularly useful for courses incorporating mathematical content, as it enhances clarity and comprehension. LearnWorlds supports MathJax, which allows rendering mathematical expressions formatted in LaTeX. These expressions can be added in different parts of an assessment and Ebook, ensuring an enriched learning experience.
In this article, we will learn how to integrate Math Latex text widgets in Assessments and Ebooks for an improved outcome.
Assessment
Mathematical expressions can be added in the following areas in the Assessments:
- Starting or Ending Screens of an Assessment
- Question Descriptions
- Custom Multiple Choice Questions
- Custom Multiple Choice-Multiple Answers Questions
- Match Questions
To integrate a Math Latex text widget into an assessment, follow these steps:
1. Click on the plus (+) icon in the supported location.
2. Select the Math Formatting option to add the Math Latex text widget.
3. Enter your mathematical expression or equation in LaTeX format.
It is possible to add the mathematical expression or equation both inline wrapped between a single $ (for example, $E=mc^2$).
You can block mathematics wrapped between $$ (for example $$ \hbar \frac{\partial}{\partial t}\Psi(\mathbf{r},t) = \hat H \Psi(\mathbf{r},t)$$).
Only the mathematical expression should be wrapped between the $ sign, as spaces entered between them are ignored (per Latex's formatting).
Ebook
In Ebook learning activities, the Math Latex text widget can be added as a widget within a section.
You may first add sections to your Ebook and then hover over and click on the (+) icon to choose the Math Formatting option
You can edit the Latex text further from the right sidebar.
